Gotta Have That Protein
It is undeniable - I’m seeing the proof all over the place as soon as I type in the words “healthy breakfast” - that one needs to eat protein in the morning. Somehow it is protein that makes as meal healthy. No, of course its’ not that simple, nor am I that cynical, but it is very true that the human body requires protein to continue building muscle and keeping us energized throughout the day.
The next question then, is what sort of protein should one be aiming for? Atkins got slammed time and time again for promoting protein, protein, protein, but allowing that protein to be consumed in the form of bacon, sausage and the like. I’m looking to make my workout pay off, not act as a safety net to keep me from gaining. The search continues.
