Watch Out for the Water!
In a rather alarming bit of news, it seems that traces of cancer drugs and of psychiatric drugs were found in the tap water in England. Surprising, to say the least, but it certainly makes the bits of flouride some American cities have in their tap water seem perfectly innocuous by comparison, wouldn’t you say?![]()
It seems that, according to organicconsumers.org, “Despite extensive purification treatments used by water companies, traces of bleomycin, a cancer chemotherapy drug, and diazepam, a sedative, have been found in the drinking water.” There are reassurances that the levels of each drug are too low to truly be harmful in that they do not pose a direct health risk, but still the worry is undoubtedly there.
Yet another reason we all must be diligent with our own health and well-being along with that of our family and friends. Too often things come to public attention long after any potential affects have already begun forming, and while all we can do is our best to keep ourselves safe and healthy, it obviously never hurts to pay attention to the news either!
