Bird Flu - Did We Do it?
The scarcity of Bird Flu is not a fleeting one and it did indeed do a number on United States’ citizens who suddenly became wary of every sort of poultry under the sun. However, it is now becoming clear that worries about an upcoming influenza epidemic - influenza being the full term for the illness we know as the flu - have a rather solid historical foundation. It seems we were not the only groups of individuals who have panic attacks of sorts over the prospect of a flu epidemic being as it is that apparently massive flu epidemics like this one have a relapsing matter and generally bring on immense human and economic costs. You can be certain that you are going to want to immunize yourself against this season if you can.
It is recommended by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)_that in a normal flu season some 200,000 individuals from within the United States are hospitalized and that about 38,000 patients die of the illness. Generally, as is often said, those stricken down with the sickness are generally the very young and the very old. However, keep yourself safe if you can this flu season!
