Ban on Chemical Additives in Food!
The government of the United Kingdom is currently in negotiations to set in motion an outright ban on chemical additives in food which would put a refreshing spin on the concept of organic foods in general. For, while organic foods are loosely defined as any food - although primarily produce - that is not sprayed with chemical pesticides and other harmful products. However, there is still the fact that pesticides have been used on produce for years and as such the soil in which these products are grown still undoubtedly contains at the very least traces of these toxins.
The government of the United Kingdom is making their stand in terms of this ban on chemical additives in foods, in an effort to protect children. A strong grouping of companies have come together to accuse the government’s Food Standards Agency of failing to consult this coalition over new guidelines for parents on the side-effects of various pesticides and of ducking out of the chance for tighter regulation. With the United Kingdom working this hard to protect their children, could our country of the United States of American perhaps follow suit? Only time will tell.
